Governance Analyst 1

Reports to: Governance Analyst 4 (Site Lead)

Job purpose

To provide Governance and Audit Support services in support of the Department of Navy’s (DON) or Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) leadership for 8-koi; a diverse Florida based service and consulting company that has been providing outstanding results for our clients for over a decade.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Serves as a junior member of group of analysts who systematically integrate and perform tasks related to Governance & Requirements Management to improve and transform operations and performance.
  • Supports the review, analysis, and evaluation of client needs to create solutions that support overall strategies.
  • Assists in the gathering of information for the preparation and conducting of analyses and studies.
  • Performs other administrative tasks related to planning and coordination.
  • Coordinates with client at the working level.

 

Qualifications

  • A U.S. citizen or have Permanent Resident Status in the U.S
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Possess executive and strategic communication skills to support Portfolio governance and the ability to develop and publish written documents such as Memos.
  • Significant program/project management experience to ensure coordination and communication with stakeholders to manage expectations, execute timely status reporting and escalate critical project risks to inform leadership.
  • Deep understanding of DON structure and ability to communicate and coordinate with both internal and external organizations and stakeholders.

  • Develops business cases, functional and non-functional requirements, feasibility studies, and scope solutions for new solutions.
  • Comprehends, communicates, and guides interrelationships between requirements and solutions, considering both the current and potential future environment.
  • Identifies gaps and shortcomings in solutions and determines necessary workarounds and/or changes to the solutions proposed.

  • Minimum 5+ Years Experience with Associate Degree in Computer Science, Digital Media, or related field.  Degree may be waived if equivalent, extensive related experience and/or certification can be demonstrated.  
  • Experience with:
    • JavaScript programming including the JQuery Core API – Required 
    • JavaScript Object Notation (JSON)- Required 
    • Extensible Markup Language (XML) document and data encoding – Required 
    • Microsoft SQL, MySQL and other relational database systems – Preferred
    • Representational State Transfer (ReST) protocol – Required

  • Provide assistance to Instructional Designers, Graphic Artists, and Software Engineers relating to the V-280 instructional content.
  • Review lessons for accuracy.
  • Explain technical processes to others in a concise, technical, and professional manner.
  • Complete assigned tasks that are technically correct, thoroughly self-checked for quality control, and are submitted according to the agreed upon schedule.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

  • At least 5 years of Maintenance experience with the UH-60 / CH-47 / V-22 required.
  • Separation from the Army / Air Force should be no greater than 5 years.
